Ok ok ok, so many people have told Mike and I to go see Fireproof. We knew it was based on Christian values and all about working hard for your marriage. We also knew that Kirk Cameron was in it, so we assumed it would be fairly cheesy. Tonight, Mike took me on a little date to go see this movie. And, well, the acting was kind of cheesy and I could see how some of the "preaching" might turn some people off to the message of the movie, but we LOVED it. I loved how dedicated he became to his marriage. I just think this was a great movie. Between our growth group's current focus, this movie, some recent conversations and just life in general, I have recently grown tremendously in my appreciation for Mike. He is a wonderful husband and person and I really really am so grateful he is my life partner. One of the main themes of Fireproof is, "Never leave your partner behind." Whether you are a Christian or a different religion or no religion at all, you can appreciate this theme. I will always desire the kind of relationship where I do not feel left behind or alone. I know that Mike and I make a good team because we love and respect each other and we love and respect God. I want to always work hard at my marriage to make sure he doesn't ever feel left behind.
And, at the end of the movie, everyone in the theater clapped. It was so cool. We enjoyed it. It was a good night. Go Mike Seaver!!

Did you guys go see it in Escondido? Ryan's parents suggested we all go see it this weekend, but when we looked it up it seemed like the only place near here playing it was Escondido... Just thought I would check to see if you found a secret, closer spot :)
